About Us

Tas Pacific Seafood is an online shop which gives customers the ability to purchase fresh seafood, sourced directly from the Melbourne Seafood Centre and processed to standard.

In 1985, Alkis Christopolous started a wholesale seafood business providing seafood to Melbourne and surrounding areas. He realised how hard it was to get his hands on seafood that was lesser known in the state. He began importing oysters from Tasmania, as the tastes and demand grew, he began importing more as well as opening up Victoria to a range of other seafoods including salmon and kingfish. Hence, the name 'Tasmanian Pacific Oyster Co'. Today the company is survived by his son John and shareholders.

Today, Tas Pacific Seafood sources their seafood from the Melbourne Seafood Centre, processes all seafood in their own facility in Melbourne, and hand-cuts each piece to standard. The business was largely popular with hotels, airlines, big catering businesses.

In light of the COVID-21 pandemic, Tas Pacific decided to take its business online with the goal of making fresh seafood accessible to the public.
